Three Distinguished Speakers Will Share What They’ve Learned as Judges - Do’s and Don’ts for Trial Lawyers Based on Real-Life Experiences.

Chief Judge Alexandra Davis DiPentima
Judge DiPentima began her legal career as a staff attorney for Connecticut Legal Services Inc. in Willimantic, CT, representing low income persons in domestic and housing disputes. While associated with the firm from 1981 through 1993, she litigated products liability and other personal injury actions at the trial court level and enjoyed an active appellate advocacy practice. In November 1993, Governor Lowell Weicker appointed Judge DiPentima to the trial bench as a Superior Court judge.

Since her appointment to the bench, Judge DiPentima's assignments have included presiding judge of the Hartford New Britain Housing Session, presiding judge in Meriden and from 1998 to 2003, Administrative Judge of the Judicial District of Litchfield. She has served on the Rules Committee and the Judicial Education Committee. From 2001 to 2002 she served as president of the Connecticut Judges Association. Judge DiPentima was sworn in as a judge of the Appellate Court in May of 2003, and named Chief Judge of the Appellate Court in March 2010.

When Judge Angela C. Robinson was first appointed to the Connecticut Superior Court in 1998, she became the youngest Superior Court Judge in Connecticut history.  She was subsequently re-appointed in 2006 to a second eight year term.  As a judge, Robinson has presided over all kinds of legal matters, including criminal, civil, family, juvenile and housing matters.  She has presided over hundreds of trials, both court-side and jury, and she has authored over three hundred written decisions. Judge Robinson has served in courthouses throughout the state, including Danbury, New Britain, Meriden, Milford, Derby, and Bridgeport and is currently assigned to the Civil Division in the Judicial District of New Haven.  In September, she will begin presiding over the Special Proceedings Docket in New Haven.

Judge Conway was first assigned to criminal court in Hartford, and in September of 1999, was assigned to Juvenile Court in New Haven, where she became presiding judge in 2000.  She now serves in New Haven family court.
