THE EVOLUTION OF THE REPTILE: FROM FREUD TO RAPAILLE TO ROVE TO THE TRIAL LAWYER...THE REPTILE THAT ONCE KILLED US, NOW WE CAN CONTROL

Don Keenan and David Ball co-authored “Reptile: 2009 Manual For The Plaintiffs Revolution,” which set a publishing record for pre-publication sale by a trial book.

During his 34-year national career, Don has obtained 145 verdicts/settlements over a $1,000,000, eight over $10,000,000 and one verdict over $100,000,000. He has twice been chosen “Trial Lawyer of the Year” and was given by Oprah Winfrey the distinction as a “person of courage”. Don has handled associated cases in over 43 states and 5 foreign countries. NBC News 27 years ago featured Don as a pioneer in the evolution of focus groups. He's recognized as an innovator and out of the box leader of the trial bar twice serving as national President, first of ABOTA (1992) and the youngest member (1987) and youngest President of the Inner Circle of Advocates (1997). In 1993, Don founded the non-profit Keenan’s Kids Foundation.

THE 'RULES' APPROACH TO WINNING LIABILITY: THE BASICS PLUS ADVANCED TIPS

Patrick A. Malone and Rick Friedman are co-authors of "Rules of the Road: A Plaintiff Lawyer's Guide to Proving Liability."

Pat Malone, a leading patient safety advocate and medical malpractice attorney, has won a long string of exceptional verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. His verdict in Benedi v. McNeil PPC remains one of the largest collected judgments against a pharmaceutical company. He appeared on the Today Show to discuss his book for patients, "The Life You Save: Nine Steps to Finding the Best Medical Care – and Avoiding the Worst." Pat frequently is invited to give educational lectures to lawyer groups around the country and also speaks publicly to patients and health care providers about improving the safety of our health care system.

He is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates and a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Patrick Malone has been recognized as a leader in the field by Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America and The Best Lawyers in America. He comes from an Irish Catholic family in Wichita, Kan., the oldest of seven children. Malone was an award-winning investigative journalist before attending Yale Law School.

THEMATIC CROSS-EXAMINATION: MAKING THE DEFENDANT YOUR BEST WITNESS IN THE CASE

Randi McGinn is a member of an all-woman law firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who should try to copyright the term “demonstrative evidence.”  She has destroyed adverse witnesses by leaving a pretentious Beverly Hills doctor standing in front of the jury covered with post-its and clutching a grapefruit to his chest; by grilling a government snitch until he threw up and by exposing the fact that a world-renowned polygraph expert had been polygraphing his own sperm cells in the dead of night.

The local SWAT cops recently put her face on their Christmas piñata and took turns whacking it with a big stick.

Randi started her career by giving birth to daughter Heather, now age 26, the day before the 3-day bar examination.

Randi McGinn is double listed in criminal and civil litigation in Best Lawyers in America; Inner Circle member; International Academy of Trial Lawyers fellow; ATLA Governor; past president of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers’ Association; NACDL board member, NITA-NCDC-UNM teacher.

PROVING DAMAGES WITH CONSERVATIVE JURIES

Brian Panish has obtained more than 100 verdicts and settlements in excess of One Million Dollars including 10 jury verdicts in excess of Ten Million Dollars and one for Four Billion Nine-Hundred and Seven Million Dollars, the largest personal injury and product liability verdict in history.

The resulting $4.9 billion verdict is the largest personal injury and product liability verdict in American judicial history.

Previously, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice selected him as national finalist for Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1990 and 1995. He earned similar recognition from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles in 1992, 1995 and 1998, when they named him as a finalist for the Trial Lawyer of the Year.
