Jason L. McCoy is the principal of the McCoy Law Firm with offices in Vernon, and New Haven. Mr. McCoy is a civil trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs in product liability actions, defective premises actions, inadequate security cases, drug litigation, tractor trailer wrecks, wrongful death actions, and motor vehicle wrecks, and commercial litigations, he represents many local, national and international corporations as corporate counsel in transactions, litigation and formation, he and his firm also practice in the areas of real estate law, bankruptcy law and criminal defense. Attorney Jason L. McCoy has received a diploma from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Connecticut Bar Association for his completion of intensive professional training in the art and skill of Trial Advocacy. Attorney Jason L. McCoy was the co-chairman of "Making a Federal Case of It: Feeling Confident in Federal Court, Connecticut Civil Justice Foundation, May 18, 2007" where he published written material and presented "Deposition, Documents & Discovery at Trial", on November 29, 2007 for the National Business Institute Continuing Legal Education for Professionals seminar related to Personal Injury Cases in Hartford Connecticut he presented at the "Calculating and Proving Damages" seminar on his written material “Working With Economic On Damages”, he co-chaired "Responding to Legal Emergencies" for the Connecticut Civil Justice Foundation on October 13, 2006, where he published written material and presented "Notice Requirements: Don't Get Caught Short!", he presented "Focus Groups You CAN Afford" where he presented written material and clips of footage from some of the focus groups on April 25, 2005 to the Connecticut Civil Justice Foundation at the Spring Dinner, and on October 23, 2009 at the Annual Legal Support Staff seminar he published written material and presented on the use of "Vendors and Tools That Streamline and Help Litigation". Attorney Jason L. McCoy’s had a dual career in public service. In 2007 Mr. McCoy was elected as Mayor of the Town of Vernon-Rockville. In 2009 Mr. McCoy was re-elected as Mayor and finished his term in November of 2011. Before that Mr. McCoy served on the Vernon Town Council since 1998 where Mr. McCoy has supported many quality of life enhancements in the Town of Vernon, he has fought to keep Rockville General Hospital open, supported the re-development plan for down town, fostered a positive environment to redeveloped the abandon mills, has created ways to increase revenue to the town without increasing taxes and he has worked hard to control government spending, while working to keep the same level of services to the citizens. In 2005 Mr. McCoy was unanimously selected as the Deputy Mayor (Mayor Pro temp) by his colleagues on the Vernon Town Council.
