Andrew S. Groher was admitted to practice by the Connecticut Bar and Connecticut and Federal District Courts in the District of Connecticut in 1978. He was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1988. He was graduated from the University of Virginia (B.A.) in 1974 and received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut in 1978. Mr. Groher is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Groher is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, where he has held all of the executive offices in that Association, culminating in the Presidency during 1998-1999. He is also a member of the Hartford County and American Bar Associations, and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Groher is an instructor of Trial Practice at the University of Connecticut School of Law and has lectured frequently for both the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Bar Association on aspects of civil trial practice. Mr. Groher has also been involved in construction litigation and served as Trial Counsel for the City of Hartford in its lawsuit over the collapse of the Hartford Civic Center in 1978.
