The discussion boards are a members-only resource. Here, members share information and advice, and benefit from the immense value of the collective knowledge of hundreds of attorneys. To help organize information and discussions, there are multiple boards on the site, grouping similar topics together.
Because the discussion boards are restricted to current CTLA members, you will need a site login to access this section. If you are member, but do not have a login, please contact CTLA staff for access. If you are not yet a member, you can join CTLA online. The discussion boards are just one benefit provided to members!
Some boards are restricted to a subset of CTLA members. For example, members of a particular CTLA committee may have a separate board set aside for their discussions. To join a committee, or to inquire about a particular board, please contact CTLA.
To start a new topic, choose the appropriate DiscussionBoard and click the 'create new thread' button. Enter your thread's title in the field provided and type a message in the message box. You can include hyperlinks and apply some basic formatting (explained below). You can also include up to five file attachments. When you are done with your message, click the 'save post' button.
To post a reply on a thread, click the 'post reply' button on a thread's page.
Yes, you can apply some basic formatting, including color, bold, italics and underlining. Select the text you want to format, then click a button in the message box toolbar.
To clear the formatting of a selection, but keep the text, click the 'Clear Formatting' button in the toolbar:

A panel will slide into view, with a field for you to enter the website address. Choose if the link should begin with http://, https://, or ftp://. Press Enter or click OK to save the link. Or, click the red 'X' to cancel.
To remove a link, select the linked text and click the 'Remove Hyperlink' button in the toolbar:

Links to edit or remove your post are found in the post's header bar on the thread page. If you remove a post, a link to undo the removal will be available in the header bar.
