PROGRAM

  • Investigating & Litigating Negligent Security Cases
Paul A. Slager, Esq., Silver Golub & Teitell, LLP, Stamford

Criminal attacks are generally thought of as matters for the criminal system.  In some such cases, however, injuries from these attacks are the result of negligence and civil claims should be evaluated.  This discussion will focus on how to investigate, evaluate and litigate civil cases arising from negligent security, with a focus on incidents involving attacks in condominiums and apartments.

  • Investigating & Litigating Auto Product Liability Cases
Brenden P. Leydon, Esq., Tooher Wocl & Leydon, LLC, Stamford

Although it may not be immediately apparent to the untrained attorney, many motor vehicle accidents are caused by latent defects in automobile components.  This talk will focus on assisting the practitioner in identifying those instances where a defect might exist, and providing instruction on investigating and handling such cases.

  • Investigating & Litigating Food Poisoning Cases
Anthony S. Bonadies, Esq., The Bonadies Law Firm, Hamden
John F. Naizby, Esq., Marcarelli-Naizby Law Firm, Madison
    Jonathan E. Spodnick, Esq., Trumbull

This panel will discuss selection and the use of an expert as well as the disclosure and the public health records to support your case.  Their discussion will include how you cannot use the findings of the investigation regarding the unsanitary conditions secondary to statute.

  • Municipal Liability
Michael A. Stratton, Esq., Stratton Faxon Trial Lawyers LLC, New Haven

Injuries from municipal negligence are common, but representing clients in cases against municipalities poses unique challenges for trial lawyers.  This talk will focus on discussion some of the nuances, complexities and potential snares related to claims against municipalities.

  • Investigating & Litigating Product Liability Robotic Surgery Cases
Leah F. Walsh, Esq., Ventura Ribeiro & Smith, Danbury

The use of robotic equipment in surgeries has been a burgeoning field.  While using robotics has been touted as a safer surgical approach, many patients have had poor outcomes without ever considering that their injuries may be result of defects in the robotic devices. This talk will introduce a basic understanding of the nature of robotics procedures, the defects that may exist and how to recognize and investigate potential claims.

  • Pharmacy Liability
Morris R. Borea, Esq., Rome McGuigan, PC, Hartford
